Year 5 - International Awards
In sports they say that sometimes it's just important to participate, and the result is just a bonus. In business, it will never be enough to just exist on the market. You have to always be in the front line and always strive for first place. So the first international awards we won in 2008 made us extremely happy.
"Marketing Sherpa Email Award", the most important email marketing event in the world, which took place in the USA Our first gold medal Gold Consumer I received it in the category Best Postcard-Style Campaign for the Renault SIAB campaign. It was a real surprise for everyone in the agency because, without false modesty, we didn't expect to win any prize. Then the madness started, no one had a US visa to go to the gala in just three weeks. We managed to get there to physically get our hands on the prize which gave us another moral boost in front of existing and potential clients.
It's the period of the financial boom that we feel on our own skin because we are dealing with more and more real estate projects. Also, media trusts are starting to invest in new brands, but all this madness was not going to last long.
At the same time, we are facing a new player in the market: the smartphone. This is increasingly present in the hands of users, and the entire strategy must be adapted to this environment. Adapting design for mobile becomes a challenge from several points of view. The novelty is amplified by the fact that at that time, customers did not accept too many formatting styles for mobile. More and more devices and applications are appearing, and if until that moment there were maybe 10 email clients, since 2008 their number has exceeded 50. However, the market is becoming more and more receptive to the impact of smartphones on email consumption habits, on which occasion we publish the study on the distribution of email clients used in Romania: "Inbox Design INSIDE 2008".
We are approaching the financial crisis. I wrote about its effects on White Image's life in the article dedicated to 2009.
