Year 2 - The first major challenges
Maybe love lasts three years and makes our lives rosy, maybe not. In business, everything is about shades of white, black and, best of all, gray. That way, you always remain challenged, always ready to do everything for positive results.
The third year of White Image brought a series of challenges from which we learned a lot and which became fuel for the years to come. 2005 was a challenge because at that time expenses were higher than income, and prudence had to be our watchword. Everything started with our own savings, and for this reason we had to find a perfect balance between what was coming into the company and what were our expenses.
Beyond the financial side, developing our own software also brought a series of new situations that we had to manage as quickly as possible. Choosing the hosting for it represented an extremely important milestone in our activity. Although the budget was not exactly our strong point, we ultimately chose the most expensive hosting at the time: Rackspace. They impressed us with their approach and the support they offered. Initially, they tried for about two hours to convince us in a telephone conversation that they could offer us what we were looking for. We refused their proposal and for this reason they sent us a T-shirt by mail promoting their "fanatical support" service. It was the moment when we realized that we needed such partners and we signed the contract with them.
All these 15 years of activity have brought us a lot of unique moments, and one of them happened in 2005 and has as its main character the Business Magazin Magazine. The special thing about the situation is that when we started email communications for this client, the publication did not have its own... website. It was the time when print still had power over online, and the message we were sending was to encourage customers to go to the stalls to purchase the magazine.
There were moments that helped us "upgrade" from one day to the next and get to where we are today. Confirmations that we are on the right track were not long in coming, and you can read about this topic in the story of 2006.
