In the 5th edition of INSIDE report, the emails volume and the number of the monitored campaigns doubled compared to last year, offering a general view of the main email marketing indicators.
Few issues from the study:
- The 3rd quarter of 2009 was the most efficient, having open rates of 25.24% compared to 20.16%, in 2008
- In 2009, the most efficient subject lines were the ones with 2-4 and 5-7 words: 34% open rate, respectively, 27.62%
- In 2009, 200 campaigns with personalized subjects were sent, the open rate being of 53.61%, with an increase of almost 100% compared to the ones unpersonalized
- As of email campaign types, e-cards and targeted campaigns recorded the highest open rates: 48.54%, respectively, 42.32%
- The best day to open the emails is Friday, with a maximum of 25.90% in October 2009
