The average open rate of Romanian emails increased by 20% in 2009, according to the White Image study, INSIDE 2010

We have reached the 5th edition of our INSIDE study. In INSIDE 2010 we analyze once again the Romanian people email reading habits and this time we’re talking about 114.087.292 emails monitored, which have been sent in 2009, representing 11.235 campaigns.
 

The most important indicators in email marketing have increased maintaining the annual accessional trend. The average open rate in 2009 was of 24.78%, increasing by 20% compared to 2008. Clickthrough rate increased from 8.4% in 2008 to 9.84% in 2009, and the clickthrough rate by opened was of 39.72%.
 

Also, a change is noticed in the reading habits. In 2008, the months of Summer were very low rated for opening the emails, but, surprisingly, in 2009, July and August recorded the most important increasing, by approximately 40%, respectively 36%, with open rates of 26% (in July) and of 25.84% (in August).

The constant accessional trend is because the most of the marketers communicated to the target. In our 11.235 campaigns analyzed, we have noticed very good responses by using personalized subjects or  content segmentation.
