On the 9th of May Romania celebrated its accession to the European Union, together with the other 27 member states. This day also marked a special event for Habitat for Humanity Association, who launched a european project at Radauti, together with the other branches. The purpose of the EURO Build Habitat 2007 project is to build 27 houses – one for each EU Nations, in 5 days working days record, between the 1st of September – 9th of September.
At the event benefited from the participation of The Mayor of Radauti county, Mr. Mihai Frunza, his special guests, as well as beneficiary families of Habitat project and other volunteers.
The project launched on the 9th of May, sustains the cause of all those in need of decent housing conditions.
Vodafone, Lafarge and Realitatea TV have joined the efforts of Habitat for Humanity in fighting against poor housing conditions.
For 2007 Radauti has been declared the European capital of volunteering and fight against inhuman housing.
